Senior Engineer, Heat Transfer

About the role

Danfoss is looking for a Senior Engineer, Heat Transfer to join its Heat Exchanger & Two-Phase Heat Transfer team. The role develops advanced thermal management solutions through modelling, testing and engineering innovation, working at the intersection of simulation, experimentation and product development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thermal-hydraulic design, analysis and optimisation of heat exchangers and thermal management systems
• Develop and validate numerical models for single-phase and two-phase flow, including condensation, evaporation and other heat transfer processes
• Design, plan and run laboratory tests to characterise thermal-fluid performance and validate engineering models
• Analyse simulation and experimental data to find trends, root causes and improvement opportunities
• Work with product development, manufacturing and engineering teams on technology development, prototype testing and design reviews

Required profile

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical, Thermal, Chemical, Energy Engineering or a related field
• Experience with heat transfer and thermal-fluid systems through simulation, experimentation or product development
• Strong understanding of heat transfer and thermal-fluid systems, such as two-phase flow, heat exchangers, thermodynamics or fluid mechanics
• Ability to analyse engineering data and draw actionable conclusions
• Communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams

Preferred qualifications

• CFD or thermal simulation
• Heat exchanger, refrigeration, HVAC, cooling or heat pump technologies
• Experimental validation and laboratory testing
• Design optimisation, advanced analytics or machine learning
• Product development and engineering design
