Engineer, Laboratory Testing

About the role

Danfoss is looking for an Engineer, Laboratory Testing to turn laboratory measurements into engineering insights for its brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHE) used in refrigeration, including systems based on natural refrigerants such as propane (R290). The role goes beyond running tests: you will analyse data, draw engineering conclusions and help improve how the laboratory works.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and perform laboratory testing of BPHEs for refrigeration applications, following standard procedures or customer-specific test requirements.
• Analyse measurement data and prepare detailed technical reports, conclusions and recommendations for development teams.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment and ensure laboratory compliance with standards such as AHRI, ISO, EN, ASME, PED and EHS.
• Create and update SOPs, introduce new measurement methods and contribute to automation and higher test efficiency.
• Support the development and commissioning of new test rigs and collaborate with engineers and laboratory experts across international Danfoss locations.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Thermal/Energy Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• Practical experience in energy or process engineering and laboratory testing, with a good understanding of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics and data acquisition systems.
• Ability to turn raw test data into engineering conclusions and recommendations.
• Curiosity about test automation and data analysis, and a collaborative mindset in an international engineering environment with confident English.

Required skills

• Experience with Python, MATLAB or LabVIEW is highly valued.
• Experience with flammable refrigerants such as propane and ATEX requirements is an advantage.
