Independent Development Engineer - Embedded Systems Testing

About the role

Iskraemeco is looking for an independent development engineer to join its Embedded Systems Testing department in Kranj, Slovenia. You will independently plan, prepare and run firmware and/or hardware tests across the product development lifecycle, working in agile, cross-functional teams to help ensure the quality, reliability and compliance of high-tech products.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and execute firmware and/or hardware tests at every stage of product development, and develop, adapt, run and automate development tests, including analysis of test results.
• Analyze, diagnose and reproduce firmware/hardware defects and work with development teams to resolve them.
• Manage test plans, scenarios, test cases and the defect lifecycle in Azure DevOps.
• Prepare test samples for internal and external laboratory testing.
• Propose and improve testing approaches, tools and processes.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and quality best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent, Level VI/2) in a technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in embedded systems testing or development.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• High level of independence and a systematic, structured approach to testing and quality assurance.

Required skills

• Programming in Python and/or C#.
• Preferred: measurement technology (calibration, electrical quantities).
• Preferred: FW/HW test automation and defect analysis with diagnostic tools.
• Preferred: wireless (LTE-M, NB-IoT, M-Bus) and wired (Ethernet, RS-485) communication, Git/TFVC, G3-PLC and G3-Hybrid (Power Line Communication).
