Field Service Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

Join the Customer Support Business Group as a Field Service Engineer, where you will ensure the operational excellence of complex semiconductor equipment. You will work directly on customer sites, providing installations, repairs, and maintenance while acting as a trusted technical advisor.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site repair, maintenance, and installation/relocation start‑up services for Lam’s electro‑mechanical and electronic systems.
• Perform analytical problem‑solving, diagnostics, and component‑level troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
• Stay current on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through continuous training and certification.
• Maintain accurate records and reports to coordinate activities between Lam and customers.
• Represent Lam as a subject‑matter expert, ensuring high customer satisfaction and transparent communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering or a related field with at least 1 year of experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams and operation manuals.
• Ability to work in a clean‑room environment while wearing appropriate PPE or cleanroom suit.
• Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and to work flexible shifts, including overtime and on‑call.
• Graduate‑eligible role with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
