Mechanical Engineer – R&D, Heating Solutions

About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer you will join the Research & Development team at Danfoss Climate Solutions in Ljubljana. You will turn engineering concepts into reliable, manufacturable products for modern, energy‑efficient heating and district energy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new products from concept through hand‑over, including mechanical design, prototyping, simulations, testing and final documentation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and product specifications to support manufacturing.
• Identify and implement product improvements, focusing on performance, manufacturability, quality and time‑to‑market.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management and other functions to resolve technical challenges and manage product changes.
• Own project milestones and deadlines while continuously expanding knowledge of new technologies and engineering methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical product development or a similar engineering role.
• Hands‑on attitude with a passion for turning ideas into real products.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling, preferably using Creo.
• Mechanical design and product development processes.
• Simulation and testing of mechanical components.
• Technical documentation creation.
• Knowledge of HVAC, heating, hydronic or district energy systems.
