Data Engineer - AI Data Products

About the role

Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data Strategy & Architecture team in Ljubljana-Šentvid, Slovenia. You will build the data foundation that powers AI, machine learning, forecasting and analytics, turning data from systems such as SAP, CRM platforms and other enterprise sources into trusted data products.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and data products supporting AI solutions, analytics, dashboards and business reporting.
• Partner with stakeholders across sales, product management, engineering and IT to turn their requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Develop and optimise solutions using Python, PySpark, SQL and Databricks, balancing performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Apply modern engineering practices including Git, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and documentation to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Monitor and improve data and ML pipelines to ensure data quality, operational stability and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, mathematics, statistics or similar, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Data Engineering, Data Science or a related field, with a track record of building data pipelines and data products.
• Fluent communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Solid skills in Python, SQL, data modelling and Databricks or similar cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD and source control.
• Confidence working with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code.
