Supply Operations Manager (External Suppliers)

About the role

Novartis is looking for a Supply Operations Manager in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to coordinate demand, supply and execution across its external manufacturing network. You will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams on supply planning, order fulfilment, inventory optimisation and continuous improvement, supporting reliable product availability and customer service. The position is hybrid and relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Manage order fulfilment for products made by external suppliers and coordinate shipments and logistics with freight forwarders
• Lead regular coordination meetings with suppliers to align supply, demand and operational priorities
• Build and maintain long-term partnerships with contract manufacturers and identify improvement opportunities
• Monitor KPIs, analyse root causes of deviations and implement corrective actions
• Analyse inventory and improve service levels, inventory turns and operational efficiency
• Prepare and oversee supply plans that balance customer service, supplier capacity, inventory and cost
• Support new product launches, packaging changes, portfolio expansions and divestments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in natural and technical sciences or economic and social sciences
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement, supply planning, logistics or supply chain operations
• Experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice environment
• Solid knowledge of pharmaceutical operations, supply chain and materials management
• Active English, with excellent communication skills

Required skills

• Strong understanding of procurement, logistics and order management processes
• Experience with SAP
• Advanced Microsoft Office, especially Excel
