Software Engineer HVAC Applications (m/f/d)

About the role

As a Software Engineer for HVAC Applications you will combine software development expertise with HVAC and refrigeration knowledge to create digital tools that help engineers design more efficient, energy‑conscious systems. You will work on Danfoss’ Coolselector® platform, a globally used solution for selecting, calculating and optimizing HVAC and refrigeration installations, contributing directly to sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and core modules for the Coolselector® platform.
• Develop and optimise engineering calculation engines, thermodynamic models and product‑selection logic.
• Collaborate with HVAC specialists, product experts and fellow developers to translate business requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Build maintainable, modular and extensible software architectures that support future product growth.
• Ensure software quality through testing, code reviews and continuous integration practices.
• Support release activities, technical documentation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related technical discipline.
• Experience developing engineering software, calculation tools or technical simulation applications.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving abilities and proven cross‑functional collaboration skills.
