Senior Software Engineer, Custody Services

About the role

Robinhood is building the future of finance and needs a senior backend engineer to own the crypto custody infrastructure. Based in Ljubljana, you will design, implement and operate the systems that secure billions of digital assets for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run AWS infrastructure for custody, key management, and blockchain node operations.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration management using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Operate and maintain blockchain nodes across supported networks, ensuring health and availability.
• Develop and maintain Python services for infrastructure management and wallet operations.
• Own integrations with third‑party custodians and expand containerized deployments with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Set up monitoring and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana to detect issues early.
• Apply security controls, including access control, key management, and incident response procedures.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to resolve production incidents and keep custody systems reliable.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience running production cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Hands‑on experience managing blockchain nodes in production.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to take ownership of critical systems.
• Willingness to work on‑site at least three days per week and participate in on‑call duties.
