About the role
Descartes is expanding its R&D team in Šenčur, Slovenia, and is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join the Finale team. You will work on a SaaS platform that supports ecommerce sellers, delivering high‑quality code in a fast‑moving, test‑driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and ship new features for the SaaS platform.
- Debug and resolve technical issues across the full stack.
- Collaborate with engineers across North America, South America, and Western Europe.
- Participate in code reviews and promote a strong testing culture.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and overall technical direction.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.
Required profile
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong understanding of software fundamentals and best practices.
- Experience shipping code to production in a SaaS environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across time zones.
Required skills
- JavaScript (Node.js, React)
- MySQL
- AWS
- C++ (used in performance‑critical components)
- Test‑driven development and continuous deployment practices
