Senior Medical Strategy Lead, Clinical Development - Pulmonologist

About the role

IQVIA is looking for a Senior Medical Strategy Lead in clinical development for pulmonology. The role provides strategic medical and scientific expertise to IQVIA in the specialty and therapeutic area, with increasing independence over time. It covers early engagement of potential customers, proposal development for RFPs, bid defence meetings, and acting as a consultant throughout the research and development lifecycle and clinical trials, or as an independent customer solution.

Key responsibilities

• Work independently of the therapeutic area head and show independence in strategic proposal development with the proposal team.
• Lead client proposal bid defence meetings as a medical director and subject matter expert.
• Act as consultant throughout the R&D life cycle and clinical trials, or as a standalone customer solution.
• Formulate clinical development plans and lead the strategic direction of the Center of Excellence.
• Collaborate across the organization so that IQVIA's resources are fully leveraged, and take part in thought leadership activities.

Required profile

• Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• At least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO setting; CRO candidates should hold a senior strategic role with strong leadership and significant expertise in pulmonology.
• Terminal degree (MD) and training in pulmonology.
• Practical knowledge of leading and managing processes, projects and tactics in the R&D therapeutic area.
• Ability to travel nationally or internationally at least 20% of the time.
