Senior Accountant – Accounting and Reporting

About the role

IFF, a global leader in aromas, scents, food ingredients and health and wellness, is hiring a Senior Accountant in its Finance department in Markovci on a hybrid basis. The role supports key business decisions and compliance in an international environment, contributing to financial accuracy, timely reporting and business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual consolidated accounts of the company and its affiliates and report to external users on time
• Prepare tax returns, follow tax legislation and take part in tax procedures, audits and other controls
• Take part in preparing business plans and financial forecasts
• Post business transactions accurately and reconcile general ledger accounts, analysing variances and proposing solutions
• Prepare payroll and other payments and ensure documentation complies with SOX requirements
• Carry out financial analyses, support closing and the control of receivables and payables, and stay up to date with finance and accounting changes

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or related finance functions
• Economic, accounting or other suitable business degree
• Active English at C1 level
• Good knowledge of accounting processes, financial reporting and tax law, and experience with closing and audits
• Precise, responsible and ethical, able to organise work and priorities and work well with internal and external partners

Required skills

• Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of Slovenian accounting standards (SRS) and IFRS is an advantage
• SAP and Oracle experience is an advantage
• Experience with SOX controls is an advantage
