Accountant / Senior Accountant

About the role

IFF, a global leader in aromas, scents, food ingredients and health sciences, is hiring an accountant for its global Finance department in Markovci, on a hybrid basis. The role supports key business decisions, ensures compliance in an international environment and contributes to accurate reporting and financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual management accounts and reports for the company and its affiliates, including tax returns, and report timely to external users
• Record business transactions accurately and reconcile general ledger accounts, analysing variances and proposing solutions
• Prepare payroll and other payments and support business plans and financial forecasts
• Ensure documentation complies with SOX requirements and take part in control activities
• Support closing, accounts receivable and payable monitoring and financial analysis
• Keep up with changes in finance and accounting regulations and processes

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or related finance functions
• Economic, accounting or other relevant business degree
• Active English at C1 level
• Experience preparing closing accounts and working with audits
• Good knowledge of accounting processes, financial reporting and tax law; accurate, responsible and ethical

Required skills

• Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of Slovenian accounting standards (SRS) and IFRS is an advantage
• SAP and Oracle experience is an advantage
• SOX controls and financial process compliance experience is an advantage
