Python Application Security Engineer

About the role

AgileEngine is looking for a Python Application Security Engineer to automate security controls and integrate application security into software development and cloud workflows. The role suits someone who can build fully autonomous security runbooks without daily supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain scripts that integrate security gates (SAST, DAST, SCA) into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Tune and configure existing security scanning tools to reduce false positives and deliver high-confidence alerts.
• Help code and deploy automated hardened baselines and secure coding patterns.
• Work with product teams to give code-level remediation guidance in Java and Python.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience combining software engineering, security implementation and/or architecture experience.
• Fully autonomous execution capability, needing no daily supervision to design and build automated security runbooks.
• Upper-intermediate English.

Required skills

• Strong Python coding and architectural proficiency for security automation and scripting.
• Experience with deploy-time checks against IaC / Terraform and runtime checks via CSPM.
• Nice to have: hands-on SAST, DAST, SCA tooling in CI/CD, LLM/AI agent integration for vulnerability triage, threat modeling, and reading enterprise Java code.
