Procurement Specialist

About the role

A recruitment agency is recruiting, on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company in Vrhnika, Slovenia, a Procurement Specialist (m/f). The role covers supplier management, order processing, contract preparation and cost control. Candidates need at least a Level VI higher education qualification, active command of English and at least 3 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing company; chemical procurement experience is an advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs) and identify new suppliers
• Coordinate product manufacturing with subcontractors and place orders
• Prepare commercial contracts and agreements, and negotiate quantities, lead times, prices and delivery terms
• Receive and process orders and ensure timely material supply, coordinating delivery delays with production and sales teams
• Monitor and support supplier development, including qualification criteria and supplier audits
• Participate in claims resolution and contribute to cost optimisation and savings
• Contribute to process improvement, monitor procurement markets and support operational procurement
• Take part in inventory counts of materials, goods and finished products

Required profile

• Level VI education in economics, engineering or another relevant field
• At least 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing company
• Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier sourcing, selection and development procedures
• Experience in negotiations and preparing commercial agreements
• Active command of English; an additional foreign language is an advantage
• Willingness to attend supplier meetings abroad, up to 2 days per month
