Associate Director Business Planning and Analysis, TRD

About the role

Novartis is looking for an Associate Director of Business Planning and Analysis (BPA) for its Technical Research and Development (TRD) organization, based in Menges, Slovenia. You will act as a strategic finance partner to TRD, turning data into insights that support decisions, optimize resources and create value across a complex global portfolio. The role is hybrid and relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning processes and management reporting across TRD
• Deliver financial insights that support strategic decisions and business performance
• Partner with global and local stakeholders as a trusted finance advisor
• Drive a productivity mindset and optimize resource use to meet business goals
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend actions
• Support business cases, strategic investments and portfolio prioritization decisions
• Contribute to finance transformation, digital innovation and continuous improvement
• Support the Head of BPA TRD and represent the function in leadership and governance forums
• Foster collaboration, capability building and knowledge sharing across teams

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related finance discipline
• At least five years of experience in business planning and analysis, financial planning and analysis, accounting or financial reporting
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, R&D or technical operations is an advantage
• Proven track record influencing stakeholders and building partnerships in global matrix organizations

Required skills

• Strong command of financial planning, forecasting, performance management and business case preparation
• Ability to turn complex data into actionable insights and recommendations
• Project management and prioritization skills
• Desirable: Power BI or other financial data visualization tools

• Expected annual base salary in Slovenia of EUR 56,070 to 104,130, depending on skills, competencies and experience
