Technical Consultant – IBM Software Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Consultant specialized in IBM software to support the growth of IBM’s software portfolio in Slovenia. The role acts as the technical authority for partners and customers, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions and driving adoption of IBM technologies across the partner ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical expert for IBM software within the TD SYNNEX partner network.
• Assist partners in designing solutions, creating Bills of Materials and defining technical architectures.
• Deliver technical presentations, demos, workshops and enablement sessions to partners and customers.
• Participate in partner and customer meetings to provide technical guidance throughout the presales cycle.
• Identify customer pain points and translate them into IBM Software use cases and Proof‑of‑Concepts (PoCs).
• Maintain strong technical relationships with IBM’s local and regional teams to stay aligned on product updates, licensing and programs.
• Communicate IBM promotions, product changes and technical information to partners and internal teams.
• Respond promptly to technical inquiries and manage related resolver tasks.
• Support the Business Solution Centre (BSC) in driving partner engagement and technical activation.
• Continuously expand knowledge of IBM technologies and competitive platforms.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience in IBM software, cloud, data or technical presales roles.
• Familiarity with IBM Software concepts and awareness of competing solutions.
• Ability to understand partner and customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Fluent in Slovenian and English.
• Proactive, structured and organised mindset with the ability to manage multiple requests.
• Experience in vendor, distributor, partner or integrator environments is a plus.
