Software Developer (Java/.NET) - Hybrid

About the role

Transoft Solutions, an international provider of specialised software for aviation, civil infrastructure, transportation and operations, is hiring a Software Developer in Ljubljana, Slovenia. You will join the Software Development team, designing, building and maintaining solutions across the Transoft product portfolio. The role is hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the Ljubljana office.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement software features across front-end and back-end applications.
• Develop, maintain and enhance APIs, services and database structures.
• Maintain existing products and contribute to new software solutions.
• Work with Product Managers and project teams to gather requirements, define solutions and estimate timelines.
• Perform testing, debugging and optimisation to support performance, security and reliability.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and uphold code quality.
• Support clients and users, including meetings, training and pre-sales activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of agile processes and collaborate with stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong backend background.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with Java and .NET development.
• Hands-on experience with Docker on Linux; preferred Linux administration knowledge.
• Preferred: software testing, debugging and optimisation, and experience with Java microservice frameworks such as Quarkus or Dropwizard.
• Preferred: cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, CI/CD practices, and proficiency in English.

Required skills

• REST APIs, microservices, SQL/PostgreSQL and database design and administration.
• Preferred: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Maven, GitLab, Jenkins, Keycloak, Cassandra, Nginx, Traefik or Caddy.
• Agile methods such as Scrum.
