Freelance Business Intelligence Developer (Qlik Sense / Power BI)

About the role

An experienced Business Intelligence Developer is sought to support the design, development and maintenance of reporting and analytics solutions for a global pharmaceutical environment. The consultant builds and enhances dashboards, including an integrated reporting dashboard, while ensuring high data quality and reliable analytics outputs. The position is based in Slovenia and is fully remote, starting in January 2027 on an initial 6-month contract with possible extension, at about 30% allocation (around 2 days per week).

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain BI dashboards and reporting solutions using Qlik Sense and Power BI.
• Build and optimise data models to support business reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines, integrating and transforming data from multiple source systems.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of an integrated dashboard environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data, reporting and performance issues.
• Work with business stakeholders to turn reporting requirements into technical solutions.
• Maintain data accuracy, consistency and governance standards, and provide ongoing support to existing reports and dashboards.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence or analytics development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Fluent English.
• Preferred: experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences industry; familiarity with enterprise reporting and global analytics environments; experience with cross-functional and international stakeholders; understanding of data governance and reporting best practices.
