Scientist MS&T (Mass Spectrometry) – Manufacturing Science

About the role

Join Novartis' Manufacturing Science and Technology team to develop and implement analytical methods for therapeutic oligonucleotides and peptides. As an analyst and mass‑spectrometry expert you will work with cutting‑edge technologies in a highly innovative pharmaceutical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Independently design, execute and interpret analytical activities, driving innovation.
• Document, analyse and present experimental results following laboratory best practices and Novartis quality, safety and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and support technology‑transfer projects.
• Introduce advanced laboratory techniques such as LC‑MS, LC‑MS/MS and HPLC.

Required profile

• University degree (BSc/MSc) in chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences or related field; PhD preferred.
• Strong expertise in mass spectrometry and its application to organic compound characterization and quantification.
• Experience with analysis of macromolecules (peptides, proteins, nucleic acids) is highly valued.
• Proactive, excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a 6‑month probation period.
• Annual base salary €27,510 – €51,090, plus potential short‑term bonus.
