Research Scientist – Machine Learning & Speech AI

About the role

Soniox is building the world’s most advanced real‑time speech AI infrastructure. As a Research Scientist you will push the boundaries of machine learning by creating innovative models that power live multilingual translation, voice‑driven reasoning and other real‑world applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop novel machine‑learning methods, focusing on deep learning, speech and language modeling.
• Own end‑to‑end research projects, from initial concept through to a working, production‑ready system.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to align scientific exploration with product needs and ensure rapid deployment.
• Publish high‑quality research internally and externally, contributing to the broader AI community.
• Implement scalable, high‑performance solutions that operate in real‑time environments.

Required profile

• Proven track record of impactful ML research, demonstrated by first‑author publications or open‑source contributions.
• Ability to combine theoretical insight with practical implementation and rigorous evaluation.
• Self‑starter who can identify promising research directions and drive them forward.
• Motivation to achieve real‑world impact beyond benchmarks.
• Awareness of AI’s societal implications and a desire to build empowering technology.
