Legal Counsel (Commercial & Sales)

About the role

Docentric is seeking a Legal Counsel to own every legal aspect of its sales process. You will protect the interests of the company, its customers and partners while enabling the sales team to focus on revenue generation. The role sits within the Back Office & HR team and works closely with Technical Sales and Commercial Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the legal side of every deal, handling NDAs, EULAs, procurement questionnaires and contract redlines.
• Review, negotiate and finalize customer contracts, SLAs, DPAs and other commercial agreements.
• Assess legal risk versus commercial value and advise management on high‑risk clauses.
• Manage vendor assessments, compliance questionnaires, privacy requests and security assessments.
• Maintain and continuously improve a Customer Compliance Knowledge Base and a Legal Knowledge Base of past negotiations.
• Own and update standard documents such as EULA, Privacy Policy, Maintenance & Support Policy and partner agreements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial law, preferably in‑house at a software or technology company.
• Proven track record negotiating international B2B contracts, including with US customers.
• Strong knowledge of Slovenian and EU law, especially contracts, software licensing and GDPR.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Slovenian, with ability to draft and negotiate in English.
• Highly organized, pragmatic and commercially minded with a decisive, proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in English.
• Solid understanding of software licensing models and open‑source compliance.
• Experience with GDPR, data‑protection and privacy assessments.
• Ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non‑lawyers.
