German Music Localization Specialist

About the role

A partner company is looking for a German Music Localization Specialist based in Slovenia. The project refines, edits and fact-checks AI-generated music content so that it is accurate, culturally relevant and engaging for German-speaking audiences, across genres such as Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop and K-Pop, for digital and audiovisual platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Review, edit, refine and fact-check German music content, ensuring accuracy, clarity and compliance with editorial guidelines.
• Improve AI-generated English source content, refining wording, structure, tone and creativity to produce natural German.
• Research music terminology, artists, genres, industry conventions and trends, and adapt content to the target audience's cultural expectations.
• Ensure consistency and high editorial standards across platforms, following project style guides.
• Tailor the tone of voice to each genre and audience, and give constructive feedback on content.
• Work with client tools and editorial workflows within project timelines.

Required profile

• Proven copywriting, editing or content creation experience.
• Native-level German with excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
• Experience writing or editing music content across genres, with knowledge of music publishing and digital media conventions.
• Deep familiarity with Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop and K-Pop, artists, terminology and trends.
• Strong knowledge of the music industry and current music culture, and awareness of mainstream pop culture.
• Excellent research, fact-checking and proofreading skills; attention to detail.
• Willingness to complete a skills assessment on German grammar and music expertise.
• Bonus: published music work in outlets such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork or NME; experience with streaming services or editorial platforms; experience writing for Gen Z audiences.
