Chief Housekeeper

About the role

The Chief Housekeeper leads the entire housekeeping operation on board, ensuring that guest suites, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, service and safety. This senior position combines hands‑on supervision with strategic planning to deliver personalized butler and cleaning services that exceed guest expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all housekeeping activities, guaranteeing high‑quality service across guest suites, public areas and crew spaces.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of the vessel to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Interact proactively with guests to anticipate needs and respond to requests, complaints and enquiries immediately.
• Manage the housekeeping team’s schedule, training, performance coaching and administrative records.
• Monitor guest satisfaction through comment cards and rating scores, and implement improvements.
• Ensure VIP and premium suite protocols are executed flawlessly at embarkation and throughout the cruise.
• Maintain compliance with public health standards, log requirements and company service procedures.
• Collaborate with HR on staffing, training, and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in hospitality housekeeping, preferably on cruise ships or luxury hotels.
• Proven leadership and people‑management skills.
• Strong commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
