Accountant – Hybrid role in Šenčur, Slovenia

About the role

We are looking for a committed and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our international finance team in Šenčur. The role is hybrid, with three days a week on‑site and full office presence during the probation period. You will support the financial success of a group of companies operating in a business‑critical industry.

Key responsibilities

• Post financial transactions to the general ledger and related sub‑ledgers.
• Manage fixed‑asset records, including entries, depreciation and inventory tracking.
• Reconcile open items and transactions between related and unrelated parties.
• Perform internal controls on received documents.
• Process incoming invoices using an OCR system and document‑management application, ensuring accurate coding to cost centres and departments.
• Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual reports.
• Apply accounting and tax regulations, especially VAT and corporate income tax.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and timely execution in line with deadlines and internal procedures.
• Collaborate within an international department, handling accounting tasks for multiple group companies.
• Adapt to fast‑paced changes in systems, processes and the global organisational structure.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and Slovenian, both written and spoken.
• Higher vocational education (Level VI) in economics, accounting or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in a comparable accounting position.
• Solid knowledge of accounting standards and basic tax legislation.
• Strong attention to detail, consistency and a responsible approach to data handling.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt in a dynamic, international environment.
