Software Quality Engineer

About the role

Adacta is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join its Quality Assurance department, which provides developers with tools, frameworks and expertise to write clean, quality code and owns the test automation, code quality and supply-chain security of its insurance platform. The role can be based in Ljubljana, Belgrade or Brno.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, well-tested and refactored code with the team and ship it into production
• Build and maintain test frameworks and infrastructure: UI tests (Playwright), API tests, configuration tests and performance tests (k6)
• Design test scenarios and acceptance tests for complex business flows and run performance tests
• Improve code quality and security tooling: static analysis (SonarQube), dependency and supply-chain security (Dependency-Track, SBOM, Trivy) and dynamic security testing (ZAP)
• Build CI/CD pipelines and test environments in GitLab, on Docker and Kubernetes
• Use AI coding assistants in daily work and help the team adopt them for test generation and automation
• Work with developers, product management and design teams on technical implementation and user scenarios
• Work with DevOps and deployment teams to resolve issues, using Grafana, Kibana and ReportPortal
• Help set the strategic direction for testing and keep up to date with industry trends in development, testing and security

Required profile

• Technical experience in development and quality engineering
• Strong coding, design and analytical skills, especially in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience building and maintaining test automation (UI and API) and test frameworks
• Experience with enterprise application development (.NET, TypeScript, Angular)
• Strong SQL and database skills (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containers; understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure, Kubernetes)
• English
• BS in Computer Science or a related field
• Desired: application security tooling (SAST, SCA/SBOM, DAST) and OWASP practices, performance testing and observability tools, Scrum/agile tools (JIRA), and insurance or financial services experience
