Senior Technical Writer - AI Software Documentation

About the role

AgileEngine, an Inc. 5000 company building software for Fortune 500 brands and startups, is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to design and automate AI-driven software documentation for end users, developers and system integrators.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering and operations teams to understand documentation needs and user workflows, then design documentation architecture and automation patterns for multiple audiences.
• Set documentation standards and build governance and quality gates into the automation system so generated content (user guides, API docs, integration guides, in-product help, release notes) stays consistent.
• Build and refine prompt templates, style guides and content models so developers and writers can produce consistent, high-quality documentation at scale.
• Write, edit and review documentation, validate automation output and identify patterns that improve prompts and templates.
• Measure documentation impact with analytics and user feedback to improve the automation system and content strategy.
• Document systems, configurations, prompts and decision logic so the team can maintain and improve the automation independently.

Required profile

• 4+ years of technical writing experience, including software documentation (SaaS, cloud platforms or developer-focused content).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, English or a related field, or equivalent work experience; upper-intermediate English.
• Experience in fast-paced, cross-functional product environments.
• Nice to have: loyalty product, MarTech or B2B SaaS experience, and Redocly experience.

Required skills

• Deep familiarity with prompt engineering and configuring AI tools.
• Strong understanding of documentation architecture, information design and documentation patterns.
• Technical comfort with APIs, event streaming, batch processing, system architecture and data models.
• Proficiency with Markdown, YAML, Git and version-controlled workflows; comfortable in code editors and the command line.
