Senior Legal Counsel (Corporate)

About the role

An established company operating in an international environment is looking for an experienced Corporate Legal Counsel. As its sole in-house lawyer, you will advise senior management and support different departments, with contract review forming the largest part of your day-to-day work. You will report directly to the Managing Director and have access to external legal specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Review and negotiate contractual terms across a wide range of business agreements
• Draft contracts and support more complex contractual arrangements
• Identify legal risks and propose practical, legally sound solutions
• Provide legal advice to senior management and internal departments
• Support real estate transactions, construction projects and other business activities
• Occasionally take part in negotiations with business partners
• Coordinate the work of external legal advisers
• Monitor relevant legislation and prepare legal opinions

Required profile

• Master's degree in law or an equivalent qualification at Slovenian Qualifications Framework level 8
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in an in-house legal role or legal practice
• Strong knowledge of civil law, particularly obligations and contract law
• Excellent written and spoken English, including legal terminology
• Sound professional judgement and the ability to give clear, business-focused advice
• Strong communication, negotiation and collaboration skills
