Per Diem Preop & PACU Registered Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in both pre‑operative and post‑anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings. The role involves preparing patients for surgery, monitoring recovery, and ensuring safe transition from anesthesia.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre‑operative assessments, review medications, and coordinate diagnostic testing.
• Verify consent forms and complete all required documentation.
• Educate patients about the surgical process and provide emotional support to reduce anxiety.
• Monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, nausea, and respiratory status in the PACU.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition, ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum one year of experience in pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative surgical patient care.
