Google Cloud Platform Architect – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Google Cloud Platform Architect to join BairesDev’s AI‑driven mainframe modernization practice. The role is fully remote and focuses on transforming legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications running on GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead the re‑architecture of legacy and mainframe‑class applications onto Google Cloud.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain the business impact of modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a GCP‑only environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and migration to Java, Go, or .NET on cloud platforms.
• Strong background in data architecture and pipeline design on GCP.
• Consulting or professional‑services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Familiarity with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Excellent requirements‑gathering and test‑driven design skills.
