Data Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Soniox is looking for a Data Infrastructure Engineer to build and maintain the high‑performance, reliable, and scalable data foundation that powers its real‑time AI products. You will work across the stack, from streaming pipelines and vector stores to Kubernetes and distributed OLAP systems, enabling rapid experimentation and product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core data infrastructure systems, including distributed compute, stream processing, orchestration, and low‑latency storage.
• Ensure scalability and reliability of data pipelines as user volume and model complexity grow.
• Partner with product, research, and safety teams to enable fast iteration and seamless integration.
• Develop tooling and APIs that give other teams self‑serve, production‑grade access to data.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and maintain availability and performance of the services you own.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure or data engineering, preferably on large‑scale systems.
• Strong interest in debugging complex distributed systems and building robust abstractions.
• Self‑directed learner who enjoys teaching others.
