Senior Software Engineer, Prime

About the role

Join Robinhood's Prime team in Ljubljana to build critical financial infrastructure for institutional clients. As a Senior Full‑Stack Engineer you will own feature design and delivery across backend services and frontend interfaces, ensuring correctness in high‑impact systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design and implementation of Prime backend services (settlement, credit, lending, tokenized securities) and related frontend/back‑office screens.
• Own client‑ and ops‑facing journeys across the institutional lifecycle, from onboarding to reporting and operational tooling.
• Write detailed designs, define failure states, invariants, and recovery mechanisms before shipping code.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design‑focused code reviews, and switch fluidly between backend and frontend as needed.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to support business needs.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering complex, high‑ambiguity projects in production with full ownership of shipped code.
• Experience building financial systems where correctness is non‑negotiable (balances, ledgers, risk engines, settlement, KYC, payments).
• Strong design judgment, enumerating failure paths and defining invariants, tests, or alerts.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑team alignment and mentorship.
