Senior QA Engineer – Automation & Leadership

About the role

At ZCAM, we are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to strengthen our QA chapter and advance quality engineering. You will establish effective testing practices, mentor QA colleagues, improve existing test environments and help transform manual testing into robust automated workflows using Playwright, TypeScript and performance‑testing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and apply QA architecture, testing standards and quality gates across projects to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery.
• Define testing strategies based on requirements and risks and oversee the full QA lifecycle from planning and execution to release sign‑off.
• Design, build and maintain automated test frameworks and suites using Playwright and TypeScript, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Act as a key QA partner for developers, architects and business stakeholders, influencing design and delivery decisions to embed quality early and continuously.
• Mentor QA colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, tools and responsible AI‑enabled workflows within the QA chapter.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in software quality assurance, including test automation and leading QA activities within complex projects.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright and TypeScript for web and API test automation, integrated into modern CI/CD workflows.
• Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, JSON) and experience troubleshooting across distributed systems.
• Practical experience with test management and collaboration tools such as TestRail, Jira and Confluence to communicate quality status and risks clearly.
• Very good written and spoken English and Slovenian, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
