Senior Procurement Category Manager – Biologics & Biosimilars

About the role

The Senior Procurement Category Manager will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for Biologics and Biosimilars direct materials. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver cost‑effective, compliant, and high‑quality external products that support project timelines and drive year‑on‑year productivity improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute category strategies aligned with overall procurement goals, including ecosystem management and total cost of ownership analysis.
• Plan, organize, and manage sourcing projects, ensuring clear scope, objectives, budgets, and timelines while using appropriate tools for tracking and reporting.
• Conduct financial analyses, participate in budgeting processes, and structure complex deals with ecosystem partners, considering tax implications.
• Monitor compliance across the end‑to‑end procurement process (budget, PO, contracts, invoices) and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain and update procurement applications, e‑catalogs, and user portals, driving continuous improvement and automation.
• Lead fact‑based negotiations, develop negotiation strategies, and build long‑term sustainable supplier relationships.

Required profile

• University degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of procurement experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record in sourcing, supplier and stakeholder management, contract management, compliance, savings delivery, and project implementation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across business structures.
