Scientist MS&T – Mass Spectrometry Analyst

About the role

Novartis is looking for a scientist in its Manufacturing Science and Technology team in Mengeš, Slovenia, to join the production science group. You will act as an analyst and mass spectrometry expert, developing and implementing analytical methods for therapeutic oligonucleotides and peptides, introducing modern technologies and working closely with interdisciplinary colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Independently design, run and interpret analytical activities and contribute to innovative solutions
• Document, analyse and present experimental results according to laboratory best practice and Novartis quality, safety and compliance standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic international environment
• Support technology transfer projects and the implementation of analytical methods in production
• Evaluate and introduce advanced techniques such as LC-MS, LC-MS/MS and HPLC
• Share expertise, help develop the team and take responsibility for your own professional growth

Required profile

• University degree (BSc or MSc, PhD preferred) in chemistry, biology, pharmacy or another natural science
• Strong expertise in mass spectrometry for characterising and quantifying organic compounds
• Experience analysing and characterising organic macromolecules such as peptides, proteins and nucleic acids is highly valued
• Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment, proactive, good communicator and team player
• Active English and good knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Expected annual base salary of €27,510 to €51,090
