Product Compliance Counsel (Remote, Slovenia)

About the role

An international, remote-first organization developing digital products that connect people across cultures is looking for a Product Compliance Counsel based in Slovenia. The role ensures that digital products, marketing activities and emerging technologies meet legal and regulatory requirements, working with Product, Marketing and other teams to identify compliance risks and support responsible product development. It covers consumer protection, advertising, digital platform, sanctions and AI regulations across the EU and US markets.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve product specifications for websites and mobile apps, and assess risks of features, user journeys, monetization and digital services
• Take part in product compliance audits and incident response
• Review advertising materials and campaigns, advise Marketing teams and support marketing compliance audits
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in the EU and US and communicate updates
• Track sanctions developments and support internal sanctions policies and controls
• Contribute to compliance training, onboarding and internal guidance and playbooks
• Review AI-enabled products and third-party AI integrations and support AI governance frameworks
• Work with Product, Marketing and other stakeholders to balance regulatory requirements with business objectives and user experience

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification
• Knowledge of EU and US consumer protection and marketing/advertising compliance
• Familiarity with EU and US digital legislation, platform regulation and AI governance
• Strong written and verbal English and Russian at minimum B2 level
• Strong analytical, research and attention to detail; able to work in an international, remote-first team
