Principal Engineer

About the role

As a Principal Engineer at Aleph, you will lead the technical direction of our advertising integration platform. You will work at the intersection of major ad and social networks and our internal billing and reporting systems, ensuring data flows reliably at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the integration architecture for ingesting and pushing data to external ad/social platforms, handling versioning, rate limits, backfills, idempotency and graceful degradation.
• Design and maintain the data architecture that connects external platforms with internal services, including pipelines, reconciliation, and service contracts.
• Develop a pragmatic modernization strategy for legacy systems, using strangler‑fig patterns, clear service boundaries and appropriate language choices.
• Set engineering standards for integration and data work, creating reference implementations and patterns for the organization.
• Write production‑grade code on high‑risk paths, lead migrations, and resolve complex incidents that impact platform stability.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building large‑scale, data‑intensive systems in a fast‑moving environment.
• Proven ability to ship production code, lead technical migrations and solve difficult production incidents.
• Strong architectural mindset with a focus on resilience, evolvability and clear documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to influence engineers and leadership without direct reports.
