Lead Analytics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to design, build, and scale a modern data platform. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics modeling, and data governance, enabling trusted analytics and downstream AI/ML use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain orchestration workflows using Airflow.
• Develop and optimise curated and serving‑layer models with dbt.
• Implement data transformations, including cleaning, deduplication, pattern matching, and schema harmonisation.
• Build dimensional models, data marts, and KPI logic for reporting and advanced analytics.
• Define and maintain KPI definitions, business glossary standards, and semantic consistency across data products.
• Configure and optimise BigQuery datasets for analytical workloads.
• Implement data quality and governance controls, including automated tests, lineage validation, and metadata standards.
• Establish and improve end‑to‑end testing frameworks for pipelines and transformations.
• Partner with upstream and downstream teams to ensure reliable, well‑documented, high‑quality data delivery.
• Support BI, analytics, and data‑science teams with trusted datasets and reusable data assets.

Required profile

• Strong experience with SQL and modern analytical data platforms, especially BigQuery.
• Hands‑on experience with dbt, including models, tests, macros, documentation, and layered transformations.
• Experience building and operating workflows in Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Strong Python skills for data processing, pipeline logic, testing, and automation.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modelling, KPI design and data‑transformation patterns.
• Experience implementing data quality, governance, and metadata practices in production environments.
• Familiarity with Git‑based development workflows and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work across engineering, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data products.
