IB Slovene Teacher

About the role

Ljubljana International School is looking for a dedicated IB Slovene Teacher to join its Languages Department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Slovene language and literature instruction within the International Baccalaureate framework, inspiring students to achieve high academic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality IB Slovene lessons aligned with IB curriculum standards.
• Develop a comprehensive Slovene program covering language acquisition, literature, and cultural studies.
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Prepare students for IB examinations, ensuring compliance with IB assessment practices.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Slovene Language and Literature or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license for Slovene language education.
• Experience teaching Slovene, preferably within the IB framework.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaborative work.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Slovene language, literature, and cultural studies.
• Experience delivering instruction to advanced language learners.
• Familiarity with IB curriculum design and assessment standards.
