Field Service Engineer Internship – Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

About the role

Roche Diagnostics Adriatic has launched a 2-year Intern Program in Technical Service in Ljubljana, designed for university students of electrical or mechanical engineering (or similar technical/biomedical fields) to bridge academic theory and real-world biomedical engineering. It is a paid, part-time position of 20 hours per week, flexible around university study, and leads to a talent capture pipeline for full-time roles after graduation.

Key responsibilities

• Year 1: Roche standard onboarding (mQMS, SHE, biohazard safety), introduction to laboratory environments, shadowing senior field service engineers on at least 5 full Preventive Maintenance Visits (PMV), and mastering logistics and spare parts management.
• Year 2: Achieving official technical certification (e.g. cobas e411 system), logging actions via ServiceMAX, using remote diagnostics through the ThingWorx Platform (RTP), and taking full charge of maintenance checks under expert mentorship.

Required profile

• University student ideally 2 years before graduation, enrolled at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FE), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FS) or a similar technical/biomedical faculty.
• Eligible to work 20 hours per week via a valid Student Service contract.
• Fluent in Slovenian and English; highly curious and technically minded.
