Engineering Manager – Ad Experience

About the role

As Engineering Manager for the Ad Experience team, you will mentor and empower a distributed group of frontend and full‑stack engineers, collaborate with product and design, and drive delivery of AI‑assisted creative tools and core ad‑delivery platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular 1:1s, give feedback and create tailored career growth plans for each team member.
• Build an inclusive, psychologically safe environment that values diverse perspectives and shared ownership.
• Maintain strong distributed collaboration between engineers in Ljubljana and Montpellier.
• Translate product strategy into actionable milestones together with the local Product Manager and UX designers.
• Guide development of the Studio and Creative Editor platforms and the in‑browser ad players.
• Champion rollout of the AI‑driven design scoring agent and promote experimentation.
• Align the full‑stack ecosystem (Angular, React, TypeScript, Node.js, Scala) with staff engineers.
• Remove blockers, refine workflows and ensure a sustainable pace of execution.
• Connect the team with cross‑functional partners to highlight business impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading or mentoring software engineers in a distributed setting.
• Strong understanding of modern web ecosystems and ability to work across front‑end (Angular/React/TypeScript) and back‑end (Node.js/Scala) technologies.
• Excellent English communication, active listening and collaborative problem‑solving.
• Legal right to work in Slovenia and willingness to work in a hybrid Ljubljana‑based setup.
