Cooling Systems Technician – Data Centre

About the role

A recruitment partner is supporting a client on a large-scale data centre programme and is looking for experienced Cooling Systems Technicians who have worked in critical environments. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from installation and testing through to maintenance and operational support, ensuring cooling infrastructure runs reliably. Experience in data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, semiconductor projects or other mission-critical environments is highly beneficial.

Key responsibilities

• Support the installation, testing and operation of mechanical cooling equipment.
• Perform planned maintenance and respond to system faults when required.
• Assist with commissioning so that equipment performs as designed.
• Work on chillers, HVAC systems and CRAC/CRAH units.
• Identify and resolve equipment issues to maintain system uptime.
• Collaborate with site teams, vendors and commissioning personnel.
• Carry out work in line with project safety and quality standards and keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance and completed works.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with cooling, refrigeration or HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of critical cooling infrastructure and mechanical plant.
• Previous exposure to data centre or other high-availability environments is advantageous.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
