Business Process Subject Matter Expert – European Logistics

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Business Process Subject Matter Expert to drive operational excellence across its European Logistics and Services network. You will standardize processes, improve system adoption and lead transformation initiatives, acting as the bridge between Operations, Product, Technology and Process Owners. The role identifies improvement opportunities, simplifies ways of working, supports digitalisation and ensures scalable, efficient and customer-focused operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead initiatives that improve productivity, quality, service performance and process compliance across the region, and implement sustainable improvements to process inefficiencies.
• Drive adoption of new systems, automation solutions and digital tools, partnering with technology and platform teams to improve user experience and business outcomes.
• Standardize regional processes and SOPs to global standards, reduce operational variation and promote best practices across countries.
• Serve as the key regional contact for process design, system enhancements and change requests, supporting testing, deployment and implementation of new capabilities.
• Facilitate collaboration between Operations, Commercial, Product, Finance and Technology teams, remove roadblocks and drive end-to-end process improvements.
• Promote Lean thinking, root-cause analysis and data-driven decision making, and share successful solutions across the network.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience in Operational Excellence, Process Excellence or Continuous Improvement roles.
• Strong knowledge of forwarding processes.
• Experience leading transformation and change initiatives, and ability to turn operational challenges into scalable process improvements.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with freight forwarding platforms such as CargoWise or similar systems.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Analytical and stakeholder management skills.
