Job description

About the role

The Associate Director ITOT Automation Engineer (Robotics) joins the ITOT team in Ljubljana and is responsible for the end-to-end robotics technology strategy for shared Work Centres across the manufacturing site. The role bridges emerging robotics technologies with site needs, moving solutions from market scan to shop floor, combining deep technical expertise with close cooperation with vendors and the innovation ecosystem. The position is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the site robotics technology strategy and keep it updated according to market, vendor and emerging-technology developments.
  • Evaluate shared standards and Work Centre strategies, align requirements across platforms and harmonise global working methods.
  • Define user requirement specifications (URS) and the technology and robotics development roadmap for shared Work Centres.
  • Turn identified technologies into standardised packages for site implementation, supported by a robotics catalog kept up to date on availability, readiness, ownership and technical details.
  • Lead technology scouting, especially computer vision, automated inspection and physical AI, and assess vendor capability and performance.
  • Cooperate with procurement on approved vendors and coordinate with sites so that pilot tests and feedback shape future planning.
  • Report to the Robotics Steering Committee and support site development plans and monthly technical reviews.

Required profile

  • University degree or master's in a technical field such as robotics, mechatronics, automation engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering, control systems, computer science, AI, industrial or production engineering.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in industrial robotics, automation or advanced production technologies, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Proven experience evaluating, selecting and implementing robotics or automation technologies from concept to production deployment.
  • Experience defining technical standards, URS and supplier evaluation criteria.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills in a global matrix organisation, excellent communication skills and fluent English and Slovenian.

Required skills

  • Good knowledge of robotic equipment, integration approaches and automation architectures.
  • Knowledge of GMP, data integrity (ALCOA+) and validation principles in regulated manufacturing.

What we offer

  • Permanent employment with a 6-month probation period; annual gross base salary of 56,070 to 104,130 EUR.
  • Annual bonus of 15% of base salary, vacation allowance and performance award.
  • Additional pension contributions of 5.844% of gross pay, accident insurance and specialist health insurance.
  • Care Connect mental health support programme and other statutory benefits.

Applications are submitted together with a CV in Slovenian and English; relocation support is not offered, so only apply if you can work in Ljubljana.
