Technical Documentation and Product Configuration Specialist

About the role

Direct4.me, a Slovenian developer of smart parcel locker technology, is looking for a Technical Documentation and Product Configuration Specialist to join its development team in Ljubljana. The role keeps product information accurate, current and traceable as designs evolve, working with hardware, software and mechanical development, production, purchasing and quality so that the right component, drawing and revision are available before products or changes go to production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain technical documentation, bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly lists for components, assemblies and finished products
• Manage versions and revisions of documentation and BOMs, and control product and component changes while keeping them traceable
• Check documentation consistency and completeness before releases to production
• Enter and maintain technical data on materials, components and products in company information systems, and standardise component identification and naming
• Archive and keep development documentation structured and accessible
• Work with engineers to align technical documentation and with production, purchasing and quality on new products and changes
• Help improve technical documentation management and product lifecycle processes

Required profile

• Degree at Slovenian level VI/2 or VII in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent qualification
• Good understanding of technical documentation, BOMs, assembly lists and product structures
• Ability to read technical drawings, specifications and other development documentation; basic knowledge of electronic or mechanical components and manufacturing is an advantage
• Systematic, precise and detail-oriented, proactive and able to work across departments
• Good working command of English

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of computer tools for preparing and maintaining documentation and structured data
• Experience with ERP, PDM or PLM systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics NAV, is an advantage
• Knowledge of engineering change control, revision management and product configuration is an advantage
