Simulation Team Lead

About the role

As Simulation Team Lead at Sunrise Robotics, you will define and deliver the simulation foundation that powers AI training, solution validation and robot behaviour in high‑fidelity virtual environments. This hands‑on leadership role sits at the intersection of robotics, physics simulation, computer graphics and AI, and is responsible for building a multidisciplinary team that creates digital twins and synthetic data pipelines for real‑world manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Build, lead and mentor a high‑performing multidisciplinary simulation team, handling hiring, performance management and career development.
• Own the production‑level quality standards for simulations that support AI training, robot behaviour development and 24/7 customer production systems.
• Partner with Simulation Tech Leads to set technical direction for digital replicas, synthetic data generation and customer solution simulation.
• Define and drive the simulation roadmap, monitor progress, surface risks early and reduce technical debt.
• Run day‑to‑day operational cadence including reviews, stand‑ups, retrospectives and reporting to ensure predictable and visible work.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams in simulation, robotics or graphics engineering, including hiring and mentoring.
• Strong people‑leadership instincts with ability to give fast feedback, grow teams and address performance gaps.
• Technical expertise in robotics and physics‑based simulation, able to move between engine internals and production delivery.
• Production‑level software engineering experience, especially in Python, delivering robust, scalable systems.
• Hands‑on experience with simulation platforms such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim/Isaac Lab, PhysX, MuJoCo, Gazebo or similar.
