Senior Software Engineer (Developer Platform)

About the role

bunny.net is building a unified developer platform that ties together Magic Containers, Edge Scripting, and its Database offering. As a Senior Software Engineer you will own the core APIs, secrets management, and observability services that developers rely on daily, shaping the experience for years to come.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the project layer that connects resources across Magic Containers, Edge Scripting, and Bunny Database.
• Build environment management (dev/staging/prod) so customers can ship with confidence.
• Architect secrets‑management APIs, handling secure storage, sharing, and access patterns.
• Create observability features – unified logs and metrics – enabling customers to diagnose issues across multiple bunny services.
• Develop fine‑grained API key and permission systems with strong multi‑tenant isolation.
• Design intuitive, consistent APIs that provide a pleasant developer experience.
• Influence architectural decisions and contribute to engineering standards within the Core API team.

Required profile

• Strong C#/.NET backend experience, including async programming, memory management, and concurrency.
• Deep understanding of API design from a developer’s perspective – naming, consistency, and error handling.
• Proven track record building secure, multi‑tenant backend systems and secrets‑management solutions.
• Experience with background processing and queuing using RabbitMQ or similar.
• Hands‑on experience with MariaDB or comparable relational databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and monitoring tools such as Grafana.
• Rigorous testing mindset covering integration tests, quality gates, and edge cases.
