Senior Procurement Category Manager - Chemicals & Excipients

About the role

Sandoz is looking for a Senior Procurement Category Manager for the Chemicals & Excipients category in Ljubljana. The role plans and leads the strategic aspects of the category and develops proposals for strategic business decisions, delivering high-value procurement solutions and supporting vendor selection, vendor development, technology management and performance measurement. It works closely with business stakeholders to deliver best-in-class external product supply, productivity gains, cost savings and process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement category strategic goals from the overall procurement strategy and ecosystem management, including project planning, scope definition and use of tools to plan, track and report.
• Map the value chain, apply total cost of ownership and should-cost modelling, and take part in or lead financial discussions such as budgeting and deal structuring.
• Support compliance and risk management, monitoring budget, payments, vendor POs, contracts and invoices, and anticipate the impact of M&A.
• Extract, cleanse and consolidate data into fact-based insights, and maintain and automate procurement content such as catalogs and user portals.
• Lead negotiations and build long-term, sustainable relationships with stakeholders.

Required profile

• University or advanced degree (Master's degree preferred).
• At least 8 years of experience in procurement or a related field within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven experience in sourcing, supplier management, stakeholder management, contract management, compliance, savings delivery and project implementation.
• Excellent spoken and written English; other languages as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Clear, confident communication with stakeholders at all levels.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a 6-month probation period, 40 hours per week.
• Annual gross salary of EUR 64,000 to 96,000, depending on level, qualifications and experience.
