Junior Backend Engineer - DR Delivery Team

About the role

Teads is looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to join its DR-Delivery team in Ljubljana. The team builds the backend systems that decide which ads are served, where and how budgets are spent, and also runs a platform that operates machine learning models. It is a hybrid team split between Ljubljana and Israel, and the role suits someone early in their career who wants to grow fast on real, business-critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services for ad delivery and spend in Go, Java and Scala.
• Work with data systems such as MySQL, Kafka, HDFS and BigQuery to build, debug and analyse delivery flows and data pipelines.
• Contribute to the backend platform that runs and manages ML models.
• Take ownership of small-to-medium features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Investigate and resolve delivery and spend issues in production, debugging distributed systems with senior teammates.
• Write clean, well-tested code, take part in code reviews and collaborate with Product and other teams.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation after onboarding.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent training.
• Solid programming fundamentals and hands-on experience in at least one backend language; Go, Java or Scala is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Good English communication skills.
• 1-2 years of hands-on backend experience, internships, working student roles or substantial side projects are a bonus.
