International Development & Humanitarian Team Leader (FCDO) – Global

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking senior leaders to manage FCDO‑funded programmes in crisis response, recovery and development. Positions include Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader and Technical Expert, working on education, health, safety and economic wellbeing across fragile and conflict‑affected contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee complex programmes in fragile and conflict‑affected states.
• Lead multi‑partner consortia, coordinating international and local stakeholders.
• Provide strategic guidance and adaptive management to ensure programme impact.
• Represent IRC with government officials and donors, maintaining strong relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience in programme design and delivery in fragile or conflict‑affected environments.
• Previous senior leadership experience (Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, Technical Director) – FCDO experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage staff in matrixed, multi‑partner settings.
• Fluency in English; experience working within the FCDO operational footprint.
